To coincide with the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™, the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich is holding a special exhibition. “Heroes: Centuries of Women’s Football” opens on 7 June, the day of the tournament’s opening match, and will run until 28 July. Opening times will be 10:00 to 18:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, and entry will be free.
- The museum attracted 141,069 visitors in 2018, an increase of around 19%, while a further 94,266 people attended the first special exhibition to be held outside Zurich.
- FIFA today announced that Marco Fazzone has been appointed as the Director of the FIFA World Football Museum.
The FIFA World Football Museum is attracting guests from all over the world and, in August alone, saw visitors from some 140 countries.
Work on the museum began nearly two years ago, and the building contractor officially handed the building over to FIFA Museum AG in December 2015. The museum will now open to the public on 28 February 2016.
